To the godly single lady: Get involved

To the godly single lady: Get involved!

I say to you… get involved! (smiles)

There has been a global panic lately due to the pandemic as unleashed by the corona virus disease.
Assuredly, there is always light at the end of tunnel. I encourage you to pray and stay safe!
I wish to leave you with this scripture below!

Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth
( 3 John 2:1 )

Dear lady, this blog post is not necessarily aimed at challenging you to undertaking ‘white elephant projects’.

Contrarily, it is geared at challenging you to productivity and resourcefulness!

“It is not enough to be busy, so are the ants. The question is: What are we busy about?”– Henry David Thoreau.

What does it mean to “Get involved” To get involved is to get involved!
It is an intentional act of engaging your heart, mind and body on a particular task and/or action.
We live in a world where everyone is busy. Have you ever taken out time to observe the events on a major street around your vicinity? Children, in groups strutting happily and hastily to school, Traders are busy, displaying their goods before their prospective customers arrive. Business men and women stuck in traffic, in a bid to beat the 8:00am timeline. Everyone is busy, and their reasons are quite legitimate.

However, I was amazed on meditating on the scripture below. It talks about the parable of the talents:

14 “For it will be like a man going on a journey, who called his servants and entrusted to them his property.
15 To one he gave five talents, to another two, to another one, to each according to his ability. Then he went away.
16 He who had received the five talents went at once and traded with them, and he made five talents more.
17 So also he who had the two talents made two talents more.
18 But he who had received the one talent went and dug in the ground and hid his master’s money.
19 Now after a long time the master of those servants came and settled accounts with them.
(Matthew 25:14-19 English Standard Version)

I discovered that all three servants were given different measures of talent, with respect to their abilities. Nevertheless, they all had equal timelines to put their talents to good use!

God’s resources and deposits in us can be likened to a seed. It has has a multiplicative tendency. However, this is largely dependent upon time!
This implies that every heavenly gift in you will remain buried and dormant, until you put it to good use.
Dear lady, where is your talent? Did you hide it? Is it still in your hands? How much more have you yielded? Do you realize that you would have to give account of your time and your talent?

Interestingly, God expects us all to have something in return. Although, it was just one talent! The master was truly expectant of something more.
Do not despise the ‘one’ talent in your possession! God knows you and your inherent abilities. Desiring to be like the servant with several talents will only amount to breeding discontentment, envy and eventually a loss of self-worth.

Additionally, burying that talent underneath the earth is never a trait of humility!
Eventually, that unprofitable servant was thrown into the outer darkness. A place of weeping and gnashing of teeth.
It will be quite surprising how men will be judged on the last day! This unprofitable servant was thrown into hell fire, for reasons of lack of productivity. It greatly amazes me that it wasn’t on account of sin or iniquity. God is the supreme judge!

Taking another cue from the scripture:

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us (Romans 12:1, New International Version)

There is a race ‘marked’ for you and I. However, there are principles tied to our victory in this race.
There was an instruction to ‘lay aside’ or ‘throw off’ everything that is an obstacle!
Have you ever sampled the tension and frenzy involved in a relay race? Physically, sprinters are fit, and almost always light, in body and spirit. Their jerseys are designed in such a way that it gives them maximum freedom and buoyancy. Why?
Obviously, Time is everything in the game of athletics.

Permit me to say that many persons will be disqualified in this heavenly race, not only on account of sin.

Strange right?

Many will be disqualified because of the hindrances (irrespective of how little) that prevented them from reaching the finishing line (Heavenly gate).

What takes your time? What do you channel a majority of your time in doing? Is it the business of investing that/those talent(s)?
Are you confused or unsure of what talent it is God has graciously given you?
Kindly refer to my post here: To the godly single lady: Pursue your God-given purpose/passion

A lot of ladies have reasons as to why they are not getting involved! I had mine too (smiles).
Some of these reasons boil down to fear, finance, indiscipline, support etc.

See, it is so easy to just relax and do absolutely nothing. Even when you are aware of what God has called you to do with your time on this earth.
I had been a victim of this, until God worked on my life, and He is still working on me!

Below are a few tips for getting involved:

Pray for wisdom
Start something
Stop procrastination
Practice discipline
Be humble to learn
Who are your inner-circle friends?
Practice self- evaluation

My sincere prayer is God will grant you help, much more beyond the letters here!
Thanks for reading my blog. I truly appreciate you. God bless you!
